A Toast to History: Celebrating 30 Years of Trojka

This year, we raise our glasses to celebrate three decades of Trojka – 30 years of bold flavours and vibrant colours! From our very first bottle to becoming a well-known brand in Switzerland and beyond, Trojka has come a long way – and it’s all thanks to you. Let’s take a journey through Trojka’s history, reflecting on the key moments that shaped us, from bold beginnings to exciting innovations that have kept us ahead of the curve.

The beginning of something BOLD

It all started back in 1994, when Diwisa introduced its very first Trojka product – Trojka Vodka Pure Grain. Little did they know, when they first launched it, that they had just created an icon! At the time, the market was dominated by traditional Russian vodka, but we had a vision of doing things a little differently. With its smooth taste and quality, this pure grain vodka quickly made a name for itself. Especially with its first colours, which followed. Trojka became a hit across Switzerland and things escalated quickly!

The first vodka liqueur

As Trojka’s popularity grew, we knew it was time to shake things up even more. In 1995, just a year after our debut, we made another bold move by launching our first vodka liqueur: Trojka Red. This vibrant red liqueur took the market by storm. It quickly became the go-to drink of its time, especially when mixed with an energy drink to create the now-iconic "Gummibärli" cocktail. Even today, Trojka Red remains a fan favourite, proving that some trends are here to stay. Soon after that, another flavour entered the market – in 1998, we introduced Trojka Black.

A fresh new look

In 2004, we underwent our first major redesign, moving away from standard bottles and introducing our very own distinctive female-shaped bottle. This bold new design made Trojka instantly recognisable on the shelves, helping to secure our place as a brand that’s as stylish as it is flavourful.

Growing the flavour rainbow

In 2005, we started introducing even more new and exciting flavours. We wanted to cater to the adventurous spirit of our fans. Over the years, we’ve grown our lineup to include 12 unique flavours, each with its own personality. From the iconic Trojka Green to Trojka Flamingo and beyond, we’ve made sure there’s a Trojka flavour for every taste and occasion.

Each product brings its own twist to parties, celebrations and gatherings. Our range of flavours helped Trojka stand out from the crowd, showing that vodka and vodka liqueur doesn’t have to be plain – it can be colourful and unique!

Trojka goes ready-to-drink

In 2011, Trojka entered a whole new segment with the launch of our first ready-to-drink products. We introduced Trojka Green Ice and Trojka Red Ice, pre-mixed beverages that offered the same bold flavours in a convenient format. These ready-to-drink cocktails became an instant hit, offering a quick and easy way to enjoy Trojka on the go.

Expanding beyond Switzerland

With success at home, it didn’t take long for Trojka to set its sights on the world. By 2015, Trojka had firmly established itself in various markets, with countries like Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria showing an incredible demand for our unique flavours. Trojka was soon enjoyed in different countries outside Switzerland – and wherever there was a party, Trojka was sure to be there too!

Limited editions and special releases

At Trojka, we’ve always embraced creativity and innovation. In 2013, we launched a special Carneval Edition of Trojka Green, infused with an extra note of peppermint. The ease of mixing this edition, known as “Fröschli,” made it a hit, especially on cold winter days. Due to its popularity, it was officially renamed Trojka Greench and continues to be enjoyed today.

In 2017, we embraced the growing trend of unicorn-inspired products with the launch of the limited Trojka Unicorn Edition. This playful product was a collaboration with a well-known retailer and was only available for a limited time, making it a must-have for all collectors and fans.

Always true to quality and easy mixing

While we’ve changed a lot over the years, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to quality. Every bottle of Trojka, from our classic Pure Grain Vodka to our colourful liqueurs. No matter how much we’ve grown or how many new products we’ve launched, we’ve never lost sight of what made Trojka special in the first place – delicious and easy-to-mix products that bring people together.

Trojka today

Today, Trojka continues to innovate and evolve. Since 2023, we’ve proudly partnered with festivals and events across Switzerland, bringing our vibrant flavours and fun spirit to large crowds. We remain a brand that’s always at the heart of any occasion.

Looking ahead

As we celebrate 30 incredible years, we’re more excited than ever about the future. With the new design, fresh ideas and the same commitment to quality and celebration, Trojka is ready for whatever the next 30 years have in store.
