Which drink goes in which glass?
Many cocktail glasses are so iconic that you immediately associate them with a particular drink when you see them. This includes the margarita glass, whose name gives a clue as to the drink it’s intended for. On the other hand, you may never have come across other cocktail glasses. That’s why we’re showing you drinks that go with glasses – so read on.

Long drink or highball glass – elegant and minimal
Long drink and highball glasses have a reinforced base and are tall and narrow. These glasses are a must for many classic, well-known drinks. That’s why long drink or highball glasses should be part of the basic equipment of every home bar. They’re indispensable for serving a variety of drinks correctly. World-famous, simple drinks for this type of glass include the Mojito and Cuba Libre. Most Trojka Easy Mixer drinks are served in highball glasses. A Flemon or Green Soda, for example, belong in a long drink glass.

The thick base of the glass ensures good stability. This means that the glass stands securely on the counter despite its slim shape. Decorations on the edge of the glass are largely eschewed with a long drink glass – no more than one slice of orange or lemon. The glasses offer enough space for simple drinks with a volume of up to 3 dl. These can be presented in an elegant and stylish way.

Wine glass – oft-neglected as a cocktail glass
Wine glasses seem unsuitable for cocktails at first glance, which is why they’re often overlooked. But red wine glasses in particular aren’t only used for wine; they also deserve their place in a cocktail bar for things like sparkling wine, champagne and liqueur cocktails. However, spritzer cocktails such as Flamingo Spritz or Sun Spritz are particularly suited to a wine glass – in other words, drinks that make good aperitifs.
Colourful gin cocktails featuring tonic water, prosecco and fresh fruit can also be wonderfully presented in a wine glass. You’ve probably encountered drinks like this in a beautiful, bulbous red wine glass during a summer visit to the bar. The best thing about this glass variant is that you probably have it at home in the form of red wine or large white wine glasses. So you can easily use them for your cocktails without having to buy any extra ones.

Copper mug, grog glass, enamel mug – the rustic variant
Copper mugs, grog glasses and enamel mugs are some of the special cocktail glasses that not every household has. As they aren’t used that often, they’re not available as standard. The enamel mug is used for things like a classic Julep, the grog glass is for serving hot drinks (grog, mulled wine, frogs, etc.) and the copper mug is typically reserved for the mule (such as the Trojka Mule) – this is best served in a copper mug.
In addition to the classic Moscow Mule or a Berry Mule can also be presented very stylishly in a mule mug like this.
